Pastor Chet is an ordained elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church and has served under appointment as the pastor of Good Shepherd UMC since July 2021. He has a heart for encouraging all God’s people to recognize and celebrate their innate belovedness. His greatest passion in ministry is sharing the good news of God’s liberating love and unconditional mercy to every person. His greatest goal in ministry is to create spaces for belonging that draw out the best in others, whatever they believe or doubt.
In 2019, he was elected by the lay members of the Baltimore-Washington Conference to serve as a lay delegate to the 2020 Northeastern Jurisdiction Jurisdictional Conference of The United Methodist Church. Lambert is the music director at Good Shepherd UMC, a role he found later in life after spending over two enjoyable decades in the art world. Like many Lambert found himself prayerfully reevaluating life during the COVID-19 pandemic which led him to shift his focus to sacred music. He is currently finishing up a Master’s in sacred music at Morgan State University.
Drawn to the community and spiritual life of the church, Lambert brings his lifelong passion for the arts along with an eclectic love of the broad range of musical strokes the church has painted over the centuries, finding pathways to foster worship that honor the musical heritage of the past while embracing the multitude of voices that give praise to God in the present.
