OUR LEADERSHIP

Rev. Chet Jechura (he/him), Pastor

Pastor Chet is an ordained elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church and has served under appointment as the pastor of Good Shepherd UMC since July 2021.  He has a heart for encouraging all God’s people to recognize and celebrate their innate belovedness.  His greatest passion in ministry is sharing the good news of God’s liberating love and unconditional mercy to every person.  His greatest goal in ministry is to create spaces for belonging that draw out the best in others, whatever they believe or doubt.

Prior to serving as a pastor, his ministries included managing digital communications at Bread for the World, a Christian non-profit advocating to end hunger, and at Eleison Group, a faith-based strategic communications and political consulting firm. Pastor Chet holds a B.A. in political science and philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, a M.T.S. in social ethics from Boston College, Clough School of Theology and Ministry, and a M.Div. with a specialization in public theology from Wesley Theological Seminary.

In 2019, he was elected by the lay members of the Baltimore-Washington Conference to serve as a lay delegate to the 2020 Northeastern Jurisdiction Jurisdictional Conference of The United Methodist Church.  He currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Baltimore-Washington Area Reconciling Methodists (BWARM).

He is married to Darian Harnish, a certified public accountant and a member of the Mennonite Church USA. They are dog dads to a mini Bernedoodle named Ollie. Pastor Chet loves the outdoors, whether it is camping with friends, hiking, or working outside in the garden.

Linda Thompson (she/her), Lay Leader

A native of Baltimore, MD and baptized at Aldersgate UMC, where she was an active member and served in many ministries until she became a member of Good Shepherd UMC, Linda has a heart for cultivating an active and engaged laity. As Lay Leader, she preaches, leads bible studies, provides pastoral care, and works closely with the pastor to establish vital small group ministries in order to deepen a sense of congregational connection and outreach in the community. A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, Linda loves to teach laity about the Wesleyan means of grace. Linda is now in the process of becoming re-certified by the Baltimore-Washington Conference as a lay servant. She is also a proud and loyal Orioles and Ravens fan.

Lambert Corcoran (he/him), Director of Music

Lambert is the music director at Good Shepherd UMC, a role he found later in life after spending over two enjoyable decades in the art world.  Like many Lambert found himself prayerfully reevaluating life during the COVID-19 pandemic which led him to shift his focus to sacred music.  He is currently finishing up a Master’s in sacred music at Morgan State University.

Drawn to the community and spiritual life of the church, Lambert brings his lifelong passion for the arts along with an eclectic love of the broad range of musical strokes the church has painted over the centuries, finding pathways to foster worship that honor the musical heritage of the past while embracing the multitude of voices that give praise to God in the present.
